    Details

MOST offers young people mental health tools, therapies and an online support community. It has been developed through clinical trials and designed to integrate with clinical services and sync with young people’s mental health journeys.

    • MOST is a 100% free support community and safe space for young people aged 12-25
    • MOST features a host of evidence-based therapies
    • MOST is moderated by mental health professionals and peer workers
    • MOST can be integrated with clinical services being provided to young people
    • MOST can be used to fill ‘gaps’ in care, such as when young people are waiting for care, between sessions, or have recently been discharged
"A great aspect is that young people can access the platform at any time. So if a young person is struggling, they have the ability to log onto MOST and to be able to access helpful material whenever they would like."
    —  Jess, clinician

    Content tailored to meet needs

When young people first use MOST, they complete a survey about their interests and recent thoughts and experiences. MOST then suggests guided therapy ‘journeys’ for challenges such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety and sleep.

    Structured therapy journeys

Journeys are broken into ‘tracks’ or modules consisting of activities, which the young person can work through at their own pace. They also have the option of connecting with a clinician on MOST who can guide and support them to use the therapy content.

Activities use cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based cognitive therapy (MBCT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), rumination-focused therapy, meta-cognitive therapy, mindfulness, self-compassion and social cognitive interventions.

    A moderated social network

MOST is a safe space where young people can opt to learn from, share coping strategies and connect with other young people going through similar challenges.

    The evidence behind MOST

    The MOST pilot (2020)
This pilot study identified that MOST generated significant improvements in levels of psychological distress, perceived stress, psychological wellbeing, depression, loneliness, social support and self-competence.
    The Horyzons project (2021)
The first randomised controlled trial to demonstrate that a digital intervention (MOST) was effective in improving vocational recovery or job prospects and educational attainment.
    MOST evaluation (2024)
The first large-scale evaluation of MOST's impact, based on the first 32 months of digital mental health service delivery to 5,709 young people in 262 mental health clinics across Australia.
